The Garden of Trees
The garden of trees is actually called an "arboretum" in Latin. This is one of the most popular places of the Botanical Gardens because it is a display of trees from around the world. The Arboretum is over 1000 acres long and extends from Whitnall Park to the Root River Parkway. The trees in the Arboretum are arranged in groves according to what family they belong to. This makes it much easier for you to identify, Wisconsin car rental customers. Some of the types of trees featured in the Arboretum are oak, lilacs, ash, nut trees, fruit trees, beech and many more. The Arboretum is a great educational tool for people of all ages and is it appealing to look at because of all the blossoming buds. You can simply walk through the gorgeous scenery, or have a picnic lunch among the trees. Whatever you do, be sure to bring your camera to capture a moment of true splendor.
Listen for the Bird's Song
Another popular event in the gardens is the Bog Walk. This is a trail you can follow in between the cool shade of the Rock Garden and the heat of the Herb Garden. You can listen to the birds chirp and you can look out over the rails of the bridge. With moist soil, trickling water and prominent growth, you will be able to see why the plants and animals love it. Along this walk, you can see Skunk Cabbage, Marsh Marigold and wild raspberry, among other things. This isn't the only thing you can enjoy on your Wisconsin car rental trip. The Boerner Botanical Gardens are also home to a rock and peony garden, a shrub mall and a daylily path. There is also a perennial, annual, herb and rose garden for your enjoyment. Be sure to check out the art and sculptures in the garden as you walk among the flowers.
