The City of St. Francis is named after the patron saint of the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi who set up a convent and Roman Catholic seminary in the city during the mid 19th century. The Lion’s Community Center is available for weddings and special events. The Miss St. Francis Pageant is ranked the top 10 in the US in scholarships awarded. Their National Nite-Out event is rated 4th in the nation.
